- Studies reveal that fixed dose combination of ofloxacin plus ornidazole is beneficial than individual therapy of ofloxacin and ornidazole.
Ornidazole - The action of Ornidazole results in loss of helical structure that interrupts with the formation of microbial DNA.
Ofloxacin - Ofloxacin inhibits the formation of bacterial DNA gyrase.
- Ofloxacin is effective against Mycobacterium species including M. leprae, M. tuberculosis and Chlamydia trachomatis.
